What ear seeds actually are

Ear seeds are tiny seeds (traditionally from the vaccaria plant, increasingly also in gold and silver plating) that sit on points along the outer ear, held in place with small adhesive patches. They sit at the meeting point of two old ideas: a traditional Chinese practice of mapping the body to the ear, and a quiet daily ritual of pressing the seeds gently with a fingertip when you remember to.

The practice is older than it looks. Versions of it appear in classical Chinese texts going back more than a thousand years. In its modern, take-home form, it's worn discreetly through the day, and most people forget they're there until they catch a glimpse in the mirror.

A few honest notes. Ear seeds are not medicine, and we're not making any claim that they treat or cure anything; please speak with a qualified healthcare professional if you have a health concern. What they offer is a small daily ritual: a tactile reminder that you have a body, and that returning to it for a moment is a kind of practice in itself.
